ALS

What Is Advanced Life Support?

Advanced Life Support (ALS) is a higher level of pre-hospital and transport care provided by licensed paramedics trained to manage complex medical conditions. ALS services go beyond basic patient transport. They include advanced clinical assessment, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, airway management, and real-time coordination with medical control. ALS plays a critical role in both emergency response and interfacility transport when patients require a higher level of medical oversight during care.
